Walnford House - 8x10" oil on masonite
©Joe Kazimierczyk
This recent painting of mine has been accepted into the 76th Annual Juried Art Exhibit held at the Phillips Mill in Bucks County, Pa. In addition, it's been awarded the 'Shaun M. Miller Memorial Award for Small Landscape or Still Life in Oil'. My painting was done at historic Walnford Park near Allentown, NJ, and to be honest, was barely dry when I dropped it off for this show! Walnford has a nice collection of restored buildings, barns, and an old mill. Old mills seem to have a big part in my artistic life lately and I'll most likely be painting here again.
The show at Phillips Mill runs from September 24 thru October 30. The Mill is two miles north of New Hope, Pa on River Road (Route 32). There is a $3 entrance fee which contributes towards the maintenance of the Mill. Phillips Mill has strong connections to the art movement know as Bucks County Impressionism, and is a very scenic spot itself. I did a painting of the mill recently, you can see it here - http://www.joekaz.net/galleries/recent/html/phillips_mill.html - the building running off the left side of the painting is where the art exhibit will be held.
